The famous sugar maple, "the true", is a large-sized tree (10 m in 20 years), with rounded and wide port, which can live until 250 years.
Easily identified by sweet and clear sap that can be harvested and transformed into maple syrup in spring, by boiling it to evaporate the largest part of water.
Often used as a windbreaker tree with a main interest for its spectacular autumnal color.
It is ideal for the landscaping or bonsai.
