Eastern Redbud
Cercis Canadensis
Description
Cercis Canadensis, also known as the Eastern Redbud, is a species close to Cercis Siliquastrum, or "Judas tree", but it is much more rustic, which is explained by its Canadian origins.
Its abundant flowering appears directly on the wood from April.
In autumn, it has purple-red foliage, marked with green veins.
This tree only begins to unfurl its leaves around mid-May.
It's magnificent!
