Description
The Amur maple or Acer Tataricum Ginnala is a small tree native to Northeast China. Its small size and its fan-shaped habit fits very well in a small garden, its shiny dark green foliage in summer turns red, yellow, orange in autumn which gives it a very decorative asset.
The Amur maple is a robust little tree, its hardiness is observed down to -24 °C, it tolerates any atmospheric pollution very well as drought, windy situations and salt.
Rapidly growing at first, then relatively slow thereafter. Acer Tataricum Ginnala will reach 4 to 5 meters in height in ten years, its trunk is initially reddish brown to turn gray over time, thus giving a beautiful contrast with the foliage.
Bonsai enthusiasts often appreciate the Amur maple.
