This magnificent little tree, very floriferous, is particularly appreciated for its spectacular flowers. General Description:

Magnolia Genie is a small tree or large shrub with a pyramidal shape. At maturity, it reaches a height of 3 m and a width of 2 m. Its deciduous foliage is bronze when young, becoming dark green when mature. The flower buds are almost black, opening into cup-shaped flowers 12 to 13 cm in diameter.

Flowering:

The slightly scented flowering of Magnolia Genie is one of its major assets. The cup-shaped flowers appear in spring, in April and May, but can also re-bloom sporadically in summer if conditions are right. The petals are a deep purple-red on the outside, almost black when in bud, then magenta on the inside when fully open, they give off a light fragrance.
