Description
Robinia pseudoacacia Twisty Baby, a twisted vegetation.
Native to North America, Robinia pseudoacacia Twisty Baby or Twisty Baby Black Locust is a deciduous tree with an erect habit, not very thorny, whose originality lies in the twisted shape of its trunk. This one carries many fine and wavy branches dressed in curly foliage which gives the tree a very ornamental graphic aspect. Thanks to its less important development than the type species (3 m in height and 2 to 3 m in width), it is ideal for small gardens and suitable for growing in pots where it reaches only 2 m in height.
The leaves of Robinia pseudoacacia Twisty Baby, tender green in color, roll up on themselves. They turn yellow in the fall. In April-May, abundant white flowers are born in very fragrant hanging clusters. However, this flowering is quite rare.
The Twisty Baby Black Locust adapts to any type of soil, even poor, light, fresh and well-drained, exposed to sun or partial shade. Very resistant, it supports winter temperatures down to -35 ° C. It does not require any particular maintenance, it is resistant to harmful insects, drought and pollution.
Planted in isolation, the Twisty Baby Black Locust will offer you its surprising tortuous silhouette, as well in summer as in winter.
