Description
The Philadelphus virginalis Schneesturm, a superb white flowering.
The Philadelphus virginalis Schneesturm or Schneesturm Mock Orange is a very vigorous variety of Mock Orange , offering clusters of fragrant double flowers, of a magnificent pure white.
A bushy shrub with an erect habit, the Schneesturm Mock Orange reaches 2 to 4 m in height for a spread of 2 to 3 m. From June to July, abundant double flowers of immaculate white, gathered in bushy bouquets, bloom. They give off an incomparable fragrance and are regularly visited by bees.
The Philadelphus virginalis Schneesturm offers good frost resistance (down to -25 ° C) and likes sun or partial shade. Undemanding, it tolerates all types of soils, even limestone, rich in humus and well drained. To promote flowering, remove damaged wood in the fall and shorten the twigs that have flowered every 2 or 3 years by a third.
