Description
Deciduous shrub native to Asia, the Sambucus nigra Golden Spark or Black Elder Golden Spark will seduce you with its particularly decorative two-tone foliage, its blooming in creamy white corymbs and its edible black fruits very appreciated by birds. With an adult height of 3 m for a width of 1.20 m, the Black Elder Golden Spark, with a shrubby, spreading and rounded shape, is suitable for free hedges with flowers or fruit trees.
In spring, Sambucus nigra Golden Spark becomes covered with green leaves, the ends of which are finely adorned with an irregular cream to yellow border. In May and June, it is adorned with superb very fragrant and very honey-bearing flat umbels that you can use in infusion or syrup. They will also flavor your dishes and desserts. The inflorescences are followed, from the end of August to September, by juicy black berries, which you can turn into jelly or jam.
