Description
Originally from Japan, this small shrub with spreading and bushy port flourishes in pendent yellow clusters with red stamens, 3 to 10 cm long at the end of winter and before the foliage, the scent of its flowers is very powerful.
Its bronze leaves turn dark green then golden yellow in autumn, they resemble those of hazel.
Winter-hazel prefers a shady situation and a soil rich in humus, slightly acidic.
