Golden currant
Ribes Odoratum
Description
Native to North America, Ribes Odoratum, a deciduous shrub otherwise known as Golden currant, can reach 2 m high and will decorate your garden in spring.
Indeed, from April to May, it will offer you a multitude of small clusters of yellow and fragrant flowers, followed by small black fruits, to the delight of the birds.
Very resistant to cold, it tolerates -29°C without problem. It will work wonders in the composition of flowering hedges or at the bottom of flowerbeds.
Less widespread than its cousin, Ribes Sanguineum, it would nevertheless benefit from being better known!
