Description
The Sweetshrub Vénus or Sinocalycanthus raulstonii Venus is a real gift of horticultural research! From the cross between Calycanthus floridus (USA) and Sinocalycanthus chinensis (China), the Venus variety was recently developed in the USA.
The flowering shrub, compact and bushy (H2M / 1M50 at maturity) is ideal for small spaces and confined gardens. It combines a robust and rustic health with a flowering as refined as it is abundant, and resists without problem with the winter temperatures.
The Sweetshrub Vénus amazes by its large double flowers of about ten centimeters that look like a white water lily, while being enhanced by a carved heart of purple color. From May to July, this generous bloom harmoniously contrasts with a foliage which is first reddish bronze during the shoot then bright green and finally golden yellow in autumn.
Still rare, the Sinocalycanthus Venus will contribute to the originality of your garden.
Easy maintenance and ideally exposed to the sun, it blooms in pots or in the ground even on poor soil and is elegantly associated with heather grass plants that are not afraid of acidity.
Last surprise: it is also called in England Strawbusch because of the sweet fruity smell of its flowers! The Sweetshrub Vénus has everything to seduce ...
