Sambucus Nigra Black Beauty
Description
Sambucus Nigra Black Beauty is a small horticultural shrub with deciduous foliage. The dark purple color of its large 20-30 cm, black-tinged leaves makes it particularly interesting in the garden as its cousin the golden elder or Madona elder. Its average height in adulthood and its bushy habit will allow it to integrate wonderfully in a small garden, in a hedge or a shruberry.
The flowering of this elder is also attractive, as it appears in May-June in the form of a pink umbrella about 12 cm, it creates a magnificent contrast with its dark foliage, these pretty flowers are honey, they attract pollinating insects and gives off a delicate lemon scent. They are followed in July-August with bright red berries then black, too, which birds are fond of. Edible, we can make jams and wine.
Sambucus Nigra Black Beauty is fast growing, reaching a maximum height of 1M50 / 2M50 in adulthood in a few years.
