The Acacia Baileyana purpurea or purple mimosa is a little known tree, so rare, which is difficult to find in garden centers, the Acacia Baileyana purpurea is much sought after by connoisseurs, because compared to traditional mimosas, this one has another decorative asset, in addition to its well-known scented flowering at the beginning of the year, this mimosa has the distinction of possessing a magnificent gray-blue foliage, almost silver, enhanced by a purple spring touch brought each year by its young twigs.

Plant in pot or in the ground, it is beautiful and does not go unnoticed.

Acacia Baileyana purpurea grows quickly in a sunny place, in a mixture of 50% earth of heather, 25% garden soil and 25% gravel or river sand. Being native of the south-east of Australia it resists rather well with the drought, you can in this case space some watering without compromising his good health.

In our regions, the mimosas are exclusively cultivated in vats in order to be able to return them from the end of November to April in a preferably unheated and luminous place, its resistance to the cold is -8 °C in this case do not hesitate to the return as late as possible and leave it in your garden or terrace as soon as the first rays of spring sun come out.

On the Mediterranean rim it will of course be grown in the open ground where it will grow up to four meters in height.
