Weigelia Ebony and Ivory
Weigela florida Ebony and Ivory®
Description
Weigela florida Ebony and Ivory®, a bush with a unique colouring.
The Weigela florida Ebony and Ivory® or Weigelia Ebony and Ivory is an elegant little bush with a very compact and regular habit, whose dark purple foliage creates a magnificent contrast with the white flowers. This variety of Weigela, which reaches a height of 1.25 m at maturity and a spread of 1 m, is ideal for small gardens, adding a touch of elegance and originality to your beds or borders.
Weigela florida Ebony and Ivory® flowers in May-June. Numerous pure white funnel-shaped flowers open up and are gathered in corymbs at the end of the branches. The flowers are honey-producing and nectar-producing, and are a delight to insects. The dark green leaves are tinged with purple and turn red in autumn.
Easy to grow, Weigelia Ebony and Ivory accepts all types of cool, well-drained soil. Hardy to -29°C, it appreciates a sunny or semi-shaded position. For maintenance, simply cut back the branches that have flowered by 2/3 in summer, just after flowering.
Choose Weigela florida Ebony and Ivory® to add colour to your beds, borders and rock gardens. Also grow it in pots or containers to enhance your terrace or balcony.
