Camellia Margherita Coleoni
Camellia japonica Margherita Coleoni
Description
A vigorous shrub, the Camellia japonica Margherita Coleoni is distinguished by its delightful flowering: of a beautiful red colour, its flowers are a joy to behold throughout spring.
Of horticultural origin, the Camellia Margherita Coleoni was created in Belgium in 1865. It is resistant to the cold and can withstand temperatures as low as -12 to -15°C. When fully grown, it reaches a height of 1.50 to 2 metres, with a spread of 1 to 1.50 metres. Camellia japonica Margherita Coleoni has a compact, upright habit. Its bright green evergreen foliage makes it decorative all year round. Its pretty, double, regularly intertwined, pinkish-red flowers bloom from March to May.
The Camellia Margherita Coleoni can be planted at any time of the year. It likes acidic soil: a mixture of heather and potting soil or garden soil is ideal for it to flourish. The Camellia japonica Margherita Coleoni can be grown in the garden, in a bed or on its own, as well as on the balcony or terrace, in a container. It is best placed in semi-shade or shade. This plant requires moderate watering. If necessary, it can be pruned slightly after flowering.
