Weigelia white
Weigela Candida
Description
Weigela Candida, a shrub with white flowers.
The Weigela Candida is a beautiful, vigorous shrub that forms a dense, upright bush that can reach a height of 1.5 to 2.5 metres and a width of 1 to 2 metres. The white bell-shaped flowers of Weigela Candida bloom in May and continue to bloom until July, sometimes until October. They are very abundant and completely cover the more or less arched branches, giving the shrub a lot of elegance. Fragrant, they attract insects and butterflies. The oval, toothed deciduous leaves are bright green and take on attractive ochre and purple hues in autumn.
Easy to grow and hardy down to -20°C, Weigela white thrives in any type of fertile, deep, cool, well-drained soil, in sun or semi-shade. To enrich the soil, add special rose potting soil, potash and bone meal at planting.
The Weigela Candida can be planted as an isolated plant or as part of a flower bed, where it will provide light all summer. Combined with otherflowering shrubs, it will form a magnificent hedge with cheerful colours.
