Roma tomato
Lycopersicon esculentum
Description
The Roma tomato bears beautiful long, firm red berries that grow in a cluster throughout the summer. Ideal for making good sauces because they are low in water but can also be eaten raw.
Sow Early spring in protected seedbed at 20°C or later outdoors in frames; prick out once and plant out in pots under glass. Tomatoes love the warmth; also suitable if you have a sunny sheltered spot in the garden. Prune regularly.
