The Hamamelis intermedia Ripe Corn or Ripe Corn Witch Hazel , native to Asia and North America, is an elegant and mysterious deciduous shrub that at first glance has leaves that resemble those of the hazel tree. It is winter that it reveals its strangest charm with its unusual flowering. Indeed, in January and February, it offers a magical spectacle when its bare twigs are covered with bright yellow flowers, delicately scented, with slender and wavy petals, similar to spiders. Then appear the leaves of a beautiful pure green which adorn themselves in the fall of a magnificent orange-yellow color turning to flamboyant red.
The Ripe Corn Witch Hazel, with a flared port and slow growth, reaches 3 m in height for a spread of 3 m at maturity, it is perfectly suited to small spaces.
