Description
Euphorbia characias Black Pearl is a perennial native to the Mediterranean basin.
Of medium size, 90 cm for a spread of 60 cm, it forms a bushy tuft slightly drooping. It presents a very beautiful blue green foliage, which contrasts with the lower part of its stems which are reddish. Its lanceolate leaves are evergreen. This will add a touch of greenery to the garden even in the heart of winter.
From April to June, the Spurge Black Pearl is adorned with inflorescences, called cyathes, at the top of its stems. The appeal of this spurge lies in the spectacular color of its beautiful lime green inflorescences adorned with a "black eye".
Very easy to cultivate, it is a plant that likes dry and even stony drained soils. Its maintenance is quite simple, just cut the flowers after flowering to promote the arrival of other inflorescences.
