Description
Hosta sieboldiana called Siebold's plantain lily is a prestigious perennial plant that came from Japan. Its large glaucous leaves as well as its refined white bells, its bushy growth habit and its contrasting colors will illuminate your garden or your terrace. Easy to grow and maintain, the Siebold's plantain lily will become essential in your flower beds.
Ideal as a ground cover, Hosta sieboldiana is adorned with magnificent thick, blue-green, heart-shaped foliage that can spread out to 60 to 80 cm. With its majestic bells erected in flower stalks, this generous bloom can measure up to 1 m in height. Its subtly scented white campanulate flowers open from the bottom of the inflorescence upwards, in summer (July-August).
The Siebold's plantain lily appreciates neutral to acidic soils. Resistant to temperatures down to -20 ° C, plant it in the shade or partial shade. As it apprehends drought, offer it a mulch that will keep the soil moist. For a lush Hosta sieboldiana, arrange it near a pond or in an undergrowth. It will also flourish in a large pot or planter on your patio, as well as in a bed.
