Description
Potentilla fruticosa Pink Queen or Shrubby cinquefoil Pink Queen is a lovely little deciduous, bushy shrub that comes to us from the Northern Hemisphere. It is very appreciated for the duration of its flowering. Indeed, from May to the end of September, its flowers follow one another without interruption. They are first of all magnificent pink buds which blossom to give lighter flowers, of a beautiful soft pink, with a yellow heart, which fade over time until they become white. Its small leaves, cut into leaflets, are soft green and turn yellow in the fall.
Shrubby cinquefoil Pink Queen measures 0.60 m to 1 m high for an equivalent spread. It is a shrub with a compact and spreading habit which easily finds its place in a low hedge, in a flowerbed or in a rockery, giving them a pretty touch of pink colour.
Potentilla fruticosa Pink Queen thrives in a sunny to partially shaded location. It thrives in well-drained, cool soil. Not very demanding, it tolerates limestone and poor, dry soils. Hardy, it tolerates frost (up to -25°C) and drought, but its flowering will be more abundant if the soil remains cool, especially in summer. Robust, it resists diseases and insects. To maintain a bushy shape, prune Shrubby cinquefoil Pink Queen in early spring.
