Description
The white currant Blanka, or Ribes rubrum Blanka, is a very productive and vigorous variety that offers magnificent bunches of white fruit with amber reflections: an original fruit bush! This very hardy, thornless bush with aromatic, palmate foliage is aesthetically pleasing and greedy, with its small edible fruits.
The Ribes rubrum Blanka has dense deciduous foliage of a beautiful green colour. The discreet flowering appears in May and is followed by clusters of white to golden fruits, very juicy and fragrant, with a soft and sweet taste to be harvested from July to August! At a height of 1 to 1.50 metres for the same circumference, the white currant Blanka can be placed in a hedge, but also in a bed and ornamental garden or on a wall: it adapts easily to all environments. It blends in perfectly with its red-fruited counterparts or other fruit bushes to form a delicious and colourful little orchard!
Suitable for cultivation in pots or in the ground, the white currant Blanka is also self-fertile and very resistant to disease and cold (down to -20°C): it is a hardy ally that is very easy to grow! It is advisable to place it in well-drained soil, ideally not exposed to the sun's burning rays: it prefers shady locations.
