Coming from California, Punica granatum Wonderful or Pomegranate Wonderful is an ancient variety of pomegranate. Early, self-fertile, vigorous and productive, it is mainly cultivated for its large fruits giving an excellent juice.

Fruit shrub with a height of 3 to 4 m for a spread of 2 to 3 m, the Punica granatum Wonderful flowers from May to June-July. It offers simple flowers with a very decorative crumpled appearance in dark orange tones that give way to large fruits with thick skin, red and yellow in color. These pomegranates contain large red grains and a few rare seeds that are easy to eat, they are juicy and sweet and mainly used for making juice. The fruits are harvested from the end of September until October.

The Pomegranate Wonderful is resistant to cold from -10 ° to -15 ° C, it requires a warm and sunny situation and a draining soil to give the best yield. Very resistant to drought, this fruit shrub is suitable for all types of soil, even poor and stony.

The Punica granatum Wonderful finds its place in an orchard or a bed. It can be planted alone in a pot or in the ground.
