Sambucus nigra Black Lace is a very beautiful and rather original variety of elderberry. Its dark purple, almost black foliage is very finely cut, reminiscent of the delicacy of Japanese Dissectum maples. The leaves keep this remarkable color even in the height of summer. From May to July, pink umbels, subsequently evolving towards white, form a perfect set and give the Purple Elder Black Lace all its beauty. These flowers are highlighted by the dark foliage and thus stand out very vividly. The Sambucus nigra Black Lace has exceptional finesse with delicate colors that catch the eye. Like all elderberries, black berries will be produced which will delight both jam lovers and our bird friends.

Elder Black Lace is resistant to temperatures down to -20 ° C and all types of soil are suitable for it. Fast growing, it has a bushy habit and will reach 2 to 2.5 meters high and about 2 meters wide. You can plant it in isolation, the contrast of the flowers on the purple leaves will be emphasized. It is also possible to integrate it into a free hedge or to include it in a bed surrounded by perennials. In any case, you will be delighted to have this specimen in your home, Sambucus nigra Black Lace will do wonders in your garden, and this in all seasons.
