Origin Holland

The Malus Domestica Queen of the pippin is an old apple tree native to Holland, the proposed plants are grafted low rod on a rootstock MM111, making it easier to harvest apples, and offering you the opportunity to create a fruit hedge. As it is very hardy, the Malus Domestica Queen of the pippin supports well the climates of the north of Europe as well as the mountain. As early as April, its fragrant pink and white flowers attract pollinating insects, especially bees.

Juicy, yellow-orange fruits streaked with red of the Queen of Pippin apple tree have a firm, fragrant flesh, their sweet and tangy taste will delight apple lovers and can be harvested from the beginning of September to October, they keep very well until March and can be enjoyed raw, in juice, but are ideal for making pies, cakes and desserts.

Queen of the pippin apple tree is an excellent pollinator for most apple trees, but is partially self-fertile so he will need other companions to produce his fruit such as Golden Delicious or Cox Orange, Orange Pippin, Landsberger Reinette.

A sunny exposure is favorable to him, but your tree will support well the semi-shaded corners. If the growing conditions are optimal, your Queen of the pippin apple tree can grow 30 to 40 cm a year to reach a height of 3 to 4 meters and give up to 20 kilos of fruit.
