The Service tree is a Sorbus a little forgotten although prized for its fruits in the form of small pears of 2 to 3 cm, the corms, which are consumed chard in the fall. This fructification is preceded by bunches of pink white flowers in corymbe that appear in the month of May.
The quality of its very hard and reddish wood makes it very appreciable in cabinet making, it is easier to work.
