Pomegranate Kabylie (Punica granatum Kabylie) is a real exotic pearl that will transform your garden into an oasis of beauty and flavours. This robust shrub, which resists temperatures ranging from -12 to -15 °C, is a jewel of nature. It offers spectacular flowering in June/July and delicious fruits, pomegranates, which are a treat for the taste buds. These are provided with small supple and tender pips, which is why it is called "seedless".

The Punica granatum Kabylie is a shrub of medium stature, able to rise to a height of 2 to 3 meters and to extend over 1.50 to 2 m. Its deciduous foliage, with narrow linear leaves of a bright and shiny green, is a spectacle in itself, but it is during its summer flowering that this shrub takes on all its splendour. Its bright orange flowers burst into fireworks in the summer, giving rise to magnificent, juicy and sweet pomegranates, of fairly large caliber, with yellowish skin washed with red. They are harvested in October. This "Kabylie" variety offers seeds, small and flexible, perfect to be eaten fresh or incorporated into your favourite recipes.

Originally from Algeria, Punica granatum Kabylie is used to sunny exposure. Although it is drought resistant, regular watering during very hot periods will promote optimal growth and more generous fruit production. In winter, protect it from severe frosts and cover the soil around the base of the shrub with mulch to conserve moisture and protect the roots from the cold.

Imagine a corner of your garden bathed in light, the dazzling flowers of Pomegranate Kabylie and its delicious red fruits. In addition, pomegranates are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, which gives them undeniable virtues for health.

Combine it with other Mediterranean plants available on our site to create your own corner of tropical paradise, such as other varieties of Pomegranates: the Punica Fina tendral, the Wonderful, the Mollar de Elche ... or even a Lagerstroemia, an Arabian Lilac, an Oleander or a Blue Jacaranda
