Native to the Mediterranean basin, the Dwarf Pomegranate Gracillissima is a small pomegranate tree with a bushy and compact habit, very floriferous. Its double bloom, bright orange-red 3 cm, has very crumpled petals. It appears in June and continues until September, followed by small edible pomegranates, but more decorative, these persist for a very long time on the shrub, at least until frost. Punica granatum Nana Gracillissima is self-fertile.

The foliage of the Dwarf Pomegranate Gracillissima is deciduous. The leaves, small and narrow (4 cm by 1 cm) are green and shiny. Bronze on breaking in, they turn yellow in the fall.

Very small in size, this dwarf pomegranate will not exceed 0.50 to 0.80 m, even when spread out. It will be perfect for pot culture on the balcony or terrace, and will be very interesting for bonsai culture.

Punica granatum Nana Gracillissima is planted in all well-drained soils, even stony and poor ones. Resistant, it does not fear the cold and supports frosts from -12 to -15 °C.
