Star Jasmine
Trachelospermum Jasminoïdes
Description
The star jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides) is a vigorous semi-climbing native to the Far East that can reach 5 meters high. Its abundant bloom, in clusters of small white flowers with 5 petals in the form of propellers, gives off a delicious and very strong scent throughout the summer. Its evergreen foliage, glowing dark green, turns to bronze tinged with red in autumn.
Star jasmine enjoys warm and sunny exposures, sheltered from the wind. Resistant, it can withstand winter temperatures down to -15 ° C in drained soil. Highly resistant to diseases and pests, Trachelospermum jasminoides needs to be pruned for maintenance in late winter to discipline its shape.
The star jasmine can be used as a creeping or climbing plant to cover a wall or a trellis, but also in pots on a terrace or a balcony.
Place it ideally near your entrance or on a place of passage to fully enjoy its decorative foliage in winter and its delicious fragrance in summer !
The star jasmine will be perfectly highlighted in association with small bush shrubs (Choisya Ternata, Deutzia ...) that will keep the freshness at his feet.
