Wisteria floribunda Kapitan Fuji is a wisteria much appreciated for its easy cultivation and immaculate flowering.
From the month of May, the White Wisteria Kapitan Fuji is covered with numerous and sumptuous clusters of white flowers, until June. The clusters here have the particularity of being shorter and very dense than Chinese Wisteria (15 to 20 cm), which gives them this very special stocky appearance. Fragrant and honey-producing, the flowers will add to the spring excitement of your garden by attracting bees and butterflies.
The leaves are light green and stand out for their beautiful silky appearance. The fruits are almond green pods with late dehiscence and few seeds.
Wisteria floribunda Kapitan Fuji is a very woody, deciduous climber which reaches a height of approximately 6 m when mature. Its stem is very twining and requires solid training to support the weight of its generous flowering.
Hardy to -20°C, it likes sun and light shade.
This Japanese wisteria draws all its vigor from soil that is not too dry, or even a little cool. A heather type soil (acidic), moderately rich or even poor and well drained is enough for it to thrive.
If you want to pamper it, adding compost will guarantee optimal flowering.
