Chinese Azalea Glowing Embers
Azalea Knap-Hill Glowing Embers
Description
Azalea Knap-Hill Glowing Embers or Chinese Azalea Glowing Embers is a shrub of horticultural origin. This vigorous variety blooms beautifully in early May with fragrant orange-red inflorescences with orange spots. It has an upright, bushy habit with dense, dark green deciduous foliage that turns bronze-red in autumn. It is a magnificent subject, easy to grow in the ground or in a pot.
The mature Chinese Azalea Glowing Embers grows to a height of 1.5 metres with an equal spread. It requires a sunny or semi-shaded location and a rich, acidic, cool and drained soil. It is recommended that it be planted in the spring and that the soil be topped up annually with heath. Azalea Knap-Hill Glowing Embers is very decorative with its glossy leaves and impressive bright flowers: it is perfect for a bed, ornamental garden or balcony.
The Chinese Azalea Glowing Embers requires regular but moderate watering, ideally with lime-free water to avoid chlorosis. Monthly fertilisation is recommended to encourage its development and flowering. Pruning after flowering will densify the plant, rejuvenate it and shape its silhouette, taking care to remove any faded elements.
