Chinese Azalea Berryrose
Azalea Knap-Hill Berryrose
Description
Azalea Knap-Hill Berryrose, a spectacular flowering.
Azalea Knap-Hill Berryrose or Chinese Azalea Berryrose is a deciduous shrub with a superb fragrant pink bloom with orange-yellow macules, enhanced by young copper-coloured shoots. Its large trumpet-shaped flowers with wavy petals appear in early May, before the leaves. Its light green foliage in spring turns red in autumn.
The Chinese Azalea Berryrose has a bushy habit that is as wide as it is tall (1.80 m x 1.80 m) and is cold resistant to -26 °C. The Azalea Knap-Hill Berryrose can be planted in acidic soil in a sunny or semi-shaded position. It does not tolerate limestone. It likes cool, well-drained soil. To maintain humidity, it is recommended to mulch the soil around the plant.
Do not hesitate to water abundantly during very dry periods and to add humus to enrich the soil. After flowering, remove dead flowers to encourage new growth and remove dead branches.
The Chinese Azalea Berryrose will bring elegance to your heathland beds, rock gardens and borders. You can also enjoy its fragrance and bright blooms by placing it in a pot on your terrace.
